Hi! 👋🏻 My name is Mitch (he/him), and I am an illustrator, graphic designer, creative director, brand director, and goober. I am currently on sabbatical from work, but I work in the tech industry, specializing in making clear, authentic brand stuff for things associated with programmers and sysadmins.

I am a practicing Bahá'í, and am very interested in conversation around things like comparative religion, pacifism, Linux, FOSS, where you're from, and what life is like there.

#Introduction

I grew up in France. Now living in Las Vegas.

A software engineer at heart, I co-founded LinkedIn and was lucky enough to be able to "retire" early. I now dedicate my time to free and open source projects (my way of giving back).

* emscripten-glfw: wasm implementation of GLFW
* WebGPU Shader Toy (pongasoft.github.io/webgpu-sha)
* Jamba: a framework for VST plugins
* Rack Extension tools
* Audio plugins

It looks clear now that we understood their rules in different ways that made it incompatible for me to stay there. Especially as a #LGBTQ+ person, I felt Fosstodon's tepid response on the issues at the core of all this drama like something personal.

Even before all this unfolded, I was already not feeling fully comfortable there given some reputation they gained (deserved or not) for hosting users of the kind of reply guys, foss bros, etc.

Time for an #introduction again.

I've been on Mastodon since 2017 at @chuso@mastodon.social (mainly Spanish, general topics).

As a #FOSS user and enthusiast since 1998, using it professionally since 2011 and an amateur occasional #FOSS developer, two years ago I created an account in #Fosstodon for English and FOSS-related content at @chuso@fosstodon.org because I found the server rules aligned to what I was looking for (inclusive, healthy, harassment-free environment, etc.)

Hey everyone
A quick (re-) #introduction from an ex-fosstodonian who's found a new fediverse home here.
I'm an Italy-based, seasoned IT professional, working at the intersection of technology and business. Or something like that, anyway.
Some of my interests:
#technology, #science, #space, #cybersecurity, #retrocomputing, #domotics, #photography, #Linux, #BSD, #opensource, #sciencefiction, and many more.
Thanks for having me here, see you around!

Moving instances is probably a good time for a re- #introduction

Hi, I'm rubenwardy! I'm a software engineer and open source maintainer. I'm a core dev for @Luanti, I made ContentDB and represent #Luanti at conferences

I'm interested in a wide range of areas, including #GameDev, UI/UX, #electronics, #makers, #Linux, #AndroidDev, and #IndieWeb

I'm a prolific creator, I have way too many side projects on the go at a time. I post about things I'm working on here and on my website

Hello Tchncs!
I moved here from Fosstodon (@signaleleven@fosstodon.org). I live in Germany but I am originally Italian. Imperfect English is my working and domestic language.

I am a #devops engineer and a ground operations engineer for a #newspace startup.

I sometimes tinker with #homeautomation and #retrocomputing (mostly just powering on my #c64 and sighing)

I have a lovely #mudi dog.

I am bad at introductions.

Hello hachyderm world! I'm a front-end web dev by day and an open-source tinkerer by night.

I like to post about:

- What I'm programming
- What I'm playing
- Which series of Star Trek I'm watching

I like to repost:

- Linux memes
- Pixel art
- Animal gifs
- Cool projects I find

I like kindness and I like nuance and I like smart, progressive, not cynical takes. I will endeavor to make this feed reflect all of these qualities.

A re- #introduction toot: I'm yet another c. 2022 fosstodonian who found a new home in the fediverse. I'm a photographer & a retired fine art framer based in Reno, Nevada, (USA) & I'm in the process of moving to the Four Corners region. I've been running Linux since the late '90s. All photos are mine & edited using Darktable. I follow science, history, & photography toots. Here's a photo I made of Bonsai Rock, Lake Tahoe, Nevada (2017).

Hi floss.social. Just moved in from fosstodon.org/@ygor

I'm an #ElectricalEngineer from #Brazil, currently living in #France for many years. I work as a #SoftwareDeveloper, writing proprietary software for #microfluidics (I do wish I could work on #FreeSoftware for a living instead). My favorite programming language is #rustlang, but I use/have used about a dozen other languages, they're alright. I'm also a fan of #animation.

#Introduction (April 2025 edition)

Hi, I’m Kate. I’m a 41-year-old software developer based in the south-west of England. I’m best known for my National Grid: Live site at grid.iamkate.com.

I’m the Development Director at itseeze.com, where in 2007 I created a CMS that’s now used by thousands of sites across the UK and Ireland.

I’ve been in a relationship with @Clare since 2008, and we married in 2013. Same-sex marriage wasn’t legal yet, but we found a loophole: I’m trans.

OK time for an #Introduction post now I've moved instance...

I'm Lorenzo Stoakes,

I wrote a book on Linux Memory Management (see nostarch.com/linux-memory-mana ) for @nostarch - the book is currently in early access.

I am a full-time kernel developer working in memory management, and co-maintain the memory mapping parts of it+ some anon memory bits.

My wife and I have 4 cats - Cherry, Linus Clawvalds, Mary and Jim who are all beautiful and my children.

I am an amateur body builder which means I'm either pigging out or starving at any given time.

I am a amateur shitty musician and may inflict some ambient nonsense on you all at some point.

I live in the UK and am very happy to be on a UK-centric instance (thanks for having me guys!), in somewhat-the-countryside in Surrey.

Welcome all!

Hello!

I live in Milan, Italy, where I've always worked in astronomy and space outreach and education. I post about these and my other tech interests such as Lisp, retrocomputing, Linux, Assembly, and more.

This is me at Kennedy Space Center on Apr 21, 2022. Behind, at pad 39A, is the Falcon 9 rocket that carried my astronaut friend Samantha Cristoforetti to space days later. More photos of the experience:

First post on here… I come from the sigmoid server which was, ok but I didn’t see a lots of science conversations and most of the interesting post I saw came from here :).

Hoping to find some cool people and research on fediscience! Few words about me: I work in machine learning and I aim to improve the built environment in safety and sustainability :)
