And here they are. Half a dozen #solar #meshtastic nodes.

The BOM is public, and detailed build instructions are in the works.

Once installed they should run indefinitely. The solar panel should keep it powered and the battery should cover keep you connected even it there's not any sun for an extended time

One is already sold. $250/ea, but there's a discount for people at Thotcon, B-Sides 312, and BurbSec

I guess I can't upload a pic, so here:

A Landmark for Renewable Energy in Taiwan

MVRDV’s Sun Rock, a groundbreaking solar-clad structure, has reached its topping-out milestone at the Changhua Coastal Industrial Park in Taiwan. Designed for Taipower, Taiwan’s state-owned utility company, this facility is more than just a storage and operations hub—it’s a symbol of the country’s renewable energy ambitions. #Rock #Solar #Sun

Ok .... using OnlyOffice for spreadsheeting energydata from my solarpanels and HomeWizard sensors turned out to be a stress-test for it.

Datapoint per 15 minutes, 24 hours a day for 30 months now. Almost 90k records. Not small, but not big either.

Couple of columns to calculate but ....

  • Opening file, wait a minute
  • Add a formula and apply it to 90k records, wait a minute
  • Save to be sure, wait a minute ...
  • Next formula ... it breaks
  • Repeat every step ...

Maybe going back to LibreOffice, though did like the familiar interface of OnlyOffice.

Spotted in downtown #Whitehorse today. “Solar energy is a right.” For context, the government paused admissions into a wildly popular microgeneration program last year, with no news on when it will start up again. The program enabled residents to install solar panels and sell excess power back to the grid. (Existing participants in the program were not affected.) #Solar #microgeneration #Yukon
