argv minus one<p>I wonder if there's some way to place a table of strings in an executable section that the operating system will lazily load? Making the executable bigger with unused strings doesn't matter if the unused strings aren't actually loaded into RAM.</p><p>Java will do this part for free—*everything* is lazily loaded in Java—but with <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/C" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>C</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Rust" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Rust</span></a>, I'm guessing you have to do something special, if it's possible at all.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/programming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>programming</span></a></p>

You'll only find out at run time.</p><p>Would it perhaps be better if these string bundles were interfaces, with one class for each language and one method for each string?
