A bit late on this, but about two weeks ago was the May Day rally and march in Seattle, WA. There has been no shortage of news these days that feels like it’s not yet another risk towards immigrant and labor rights, but having the ~1000 or so turnout was extremely heartening.
I spoke briefly with an older woman named Sharon (I hope I am remembering her name correctly) and we both lamented forgetting our earplugs while sitting quite near the speakers (maybe not the best choice, haha). We also shared similar feelings on having a stronger will when we can see other like-minded people to stand alongside with.
I think the passion for labor and immigrant rights this past May Day, especially with how it is only a couple of the many targets of the destructive US policies bombarding us all, was loud and clear from Seattle. When we fight, we win.
