@snep espechally on mobile!
OFC it won't make shit go faster, but more reliable.
In fact, Tor makes #throttled connections bearable for me for >15 years, as even back in 2008 one couldn't just get "unlimited data", espechally not as an individual (school child) without income or wealth!
Issues aside it's now 15 years since I started using #Tor / @torproject & @guardianproject / #Orbot on #Android full-time.
Because in #EDGEland they yeet users to 64kBit/s if not even lower to 16kBit/s past paid bandwith and instead of properly renegotiating the bandwith, they trottle connections by reducing the packet rate / dropping packets, making it as #laggy as a #GSO-based #SATCOM connection!
@Germo The problem I have is that #eSIM restricts my #FreedomOfChoice re: #Devices.
Same with #eSIM: I can put that on a #SIM #Card *but I can't swap the soldered-down #Chip!
And yes, I routinely use #eSIMcards because I get the #freedom and #flexibility of choice, because it's noone's business which #device I use Which #plans on!
Plus many plans I want to use and/or help people to setup are #SIMonly and not available as #eSIM (i.e. #netzclub)...
I dare you to try to deploy an #eSIM on a #2Gonly #StupidPhone whereas a regular SIM can just be chugged in!
@forceofhabit yeah, blocking #CGNAT address ranges is a good thing.
Also thanks for reminding me to never set foot into Belgium again, cuz that sounds like a facist policestate!
Off to Toronto this weekend for some potentially tense Métis business. Or politics. We'll see. Gettin'er done, though.
