…On Dec 9, 2024, one day before #Trump announced that #EdMartin would join his new admin, Martin wrote about #Putin on the website of his #PhyllisSchlafly Eagles group. He decried the dismantling of Western civilization by “our ruling elites” & their “weak, incompetent” servants. These “mediocre” American men “despise figures like Vladimir Putin,” Martin said, “not because he’s an enemy of the West, but because he reminds them of their inadequacies.”

Today in Labor History March 22, 1972: U.S. Congress sent the Equal Rights Amendment to the states for ratification. It failed. And to this day, women earn 84% of what men do. One of the exceptions is public education, where teachers’ unions have fought and won the right to collectively bargain salaries based on years of experience, not gender. The first ERA was introduced to Congress in 1923. The 1972 had wide bipartisan support, including by presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter, and seemed destined to pass. However, Phyllis Schlafly mobilized conservative women against the amendment, arguing that it would disadvantage housewives, make them eligible for the draft and cause divorcees to lose custody of their children. This killed the ERA in the 1970s. From 2017-2020, several states have ratified the ERA. However, it is uncertain whether these ratifications are legal, since they occurred after the deadlines. Schlafly went on to become a major player in the anti-abortion and anti-feminist and anti-LGBTQ rights movements.

Oh I had COMPLETELY forgotten about this! Look, if it makes them happy, fine whatever just leave it out of other people’s lives

I think it’s REALLY important to differentiate the different types of #Christianity something I thought my spouse understood, but apparently didn’t b/c he didn’t grow up very religious & also not in American culture

He’s had a bone to pick w/me for apparently a few years & had to explain to him the genesis of #PhyllisSchlafly as he didn’t watch it nor #TheFamily

He’s been upset (for years now apparently at me😂😂) about #chrisPratt being thrown under the bus for his religion not understanding there are different denominations w/ radically different beliefs

I could give a sh*t what religion anybody practices AS LONG AS IT IS NOT HARMING OTHERS or wishes harm on others like say… praying for your enemies to die just as 1 example🙄or imposing your world views on the entire population

#seperationOfChurchAndState should be standard & erosion of this over the past few decades is unbelievably dangerous

Oddly, you’d assume by all appearances I’d be an #atheist but I weirdly actually believe in a monotheistic God, just anti-organized religion & definitely not Christian in any way shape or form & as long as one is not an #Evangelical forcing their dogma into our politics, it’s all🌈🌈
