#2yearlinuxchallenge Check In. Still going strong, 19 days down. #NixOS is pretty good.
#2yearlinuxchallenge Check In. Still going strong, 19 days down. #NixOS is pretty good.
My first check in for my new #2yearlinuxchallenge.
Last day of the #2yearlinuxchallenge. Ends at midnight tonight.
So if someone asked me what's going to happen on July 8th when my #2yearlinuxchallenge is over, here's where I stand:
50% at sticking on #openSUSE - I love this distro, I really do. It has flaws, but everything does. With zypper getting better, this is a real option
20% at switching to #Gentoo - The most difficult challenge.
15% at switching to #Debian - This would just be me saying eff it, I'm going to use Debian the rest of my life.
10% at switching to #Bluefin - Really liked this when I used it.
5% at switching to NixOS. Despite my severe dislike of the community (and theirs of me), the damn thing still intrigues me.
This changes damn near daily based on what's pissing me off about openSUSE, so who knows really where I'll land when the challenge is over.
#2YearLinuxChallenge Check In. 4 More Months. On the home stretch now. I can't believe how fast this 2 years has gone.
(this is also the last check in from Qtile. I can't put up with the faulty config I have and I can't seem to fix it)
Haven't done a #2YearLinuxChallenge check in here in a long while. I'm still going strong on #opensuse. I have more negative things to say about it now than I did a year ago, but I still love this distro. And yes, I'm back on Gnome. I have found that some things that I need to do actually work better in Gnome than they do in a WM. I doubt I stick around, but we'll see.
#2YearLinuxChallenge check in. Haven't done one here in a bit. #openSUSE is still awesome. I'm back on xorg and loving every second of it.
So I rebased my new laptop from bluefin to Aurora. I love how easy that was. I wish that it were that easy on openSUSE Tumbleweed. It makes me think that I will likely go to a composable/immutable distro when my #2YearLinuxChallenge is done. So come on openSUSE, make microos good.
Haven't done a #2YearLinuxChallenge check in for a while. Yes I'm using solarized. Yes I hate it. But I've been told that I can't do it so I'm going to prove them wrong.
A #2YearLinuxChallenge Check In. Going old school windows for this month's theme.
So this was the result of my day of ricing. Also, just a few days from 1 year. #2YearLinuxChallenge #openSUSE
Been a bit, but here's a #2YearLinuxChallenge Check in.
Another month and I will be at an entire year on #openSUSE. Still loving it, and have no real plans to leave. Though at the 2 year mark, I may check out Aeon, or whatever they're calling it.
Day 300. #2YearLinuxChallenge is nearing the year mark. Still loving #openSUSE. I don't think I'll make it to the year mark before doing a fresh install, though. I may try to just clean out some of my packages manually and see if I can clean up that way without nuking and paving. Then I can keep this install.
I think I'm just about ready to do my first reinstall of my #2YearLinuxChallenge. openSUSE has been a bit laggy for me lately and a lot of stuff has been going sideways. I think a lot of it is caused by package bloat
Haven't done a #2YearLinuxChallenge check in in a long while. Still going strong on #opensuse. Still awesome. Probably never going to leave.
Spent the day setting up DWM. This is the result.
I might not have gone all the way for the #2YearLinuxChallenge, but I think I can make it to the finish line for the #2YearWindowsChallenge
@thelinuxcast you sure you don't want to get into this action?
For all of two of you waiting on the epic conclusion of where I landed with my main OS woes, here be where thee landed:
