Nothing like charging a rental EV to spark a deep hatred of the app ecosystem we live in.
- First download the car rental app which also unlocks the car.
- Then download the car charger app for your origin area
- Drive to destination, stopping for a charge on the way. Charger at gas station is a new app. Download and make new account
- Get to destination. Different charger, so new app with new account. Have now given my credit card number to three new companies as none of these apps take apple pay.
- Destination charger is much slower than gas station charger. Will need to allocate 4 hours to charge the car.
Like I accept longer charging times with an EV, but surely someone must understand for people to feel comfortable with this as a transportation system, the user experience can’t suck this hard.

Hate to admit it, but I'm slightly regretting buying an #EV. Mostly because I can't yet charge at home. The battery runs down too quickly and I spend too much time thinking about how to charge it back up.
There are pluses tho. I love how responsive it is - faster than anything I've ever driven. And being a virtue-signalling leftie I love having that green band on my licence plate¹

Call me weird but I'll only get an #EV if I can charge it as fast as I can gas up my Corsa D 1.0 3-door and pay for it in cash (or #Monero if I can get Monero for cash w/o #KYC!) and not have all the "#eCall" #tracking bs in it!

Switzerland is one of the most advanced in Europe with bidirectional #EV charging. They have a regulatory framework in place for mobile storage, companies in this space (hardware, services, energy). Bern canton has a CHF 3,000 subsidy. The only thing to wait for is the availability of CCS #V2G wallboxes.
