So it turns out <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/GoogleDocs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GoogleDocs</span></a> has a character limit (~1.5m) and if you exceed it it blocks all editing, INCLUDING cut/copy (to move stuff to another doc), document navigation (thankfully my doc only has 1 tab), and find (for referencing).</p><p>Also, not only was there no warning that I would hit the limit, but I only got the message and got locked out of the doc when I was 7,000 characters over the limit, so I can't just delete the last couple sentences to reenable these functions!</p>

I like the idea, but I'm puzzled at the same time.
You want to get rid of #Youtube (aka #Google ) calling the game and you like to talk about the #fediverse .
But you present it in a #microsoft #powerpoint document that you share on #googledocs ?
There are #opensource alternatives for that. Why not use #libreoffice for a start?

There are many more of these tools, link below. Most of them are #FOSS alternatives that @Framasoft have deployed on their servers rather to demonstrate them than to offer a world-wide service (hence their partial support of languages), they don't have enough means for that, of course, nor think it's a good idea: the goal is that other local initiatives provide them to their communities.

Google docs is great and the relatively new "tabs" feature is great too. Great way to have some semblance of organization in a big file with a few separate parts. Works great on the desktop web, but on mobile, I have ran into an issue where the keyboard won't show up when loading a Google doc with tabs. Does anyone else have this issue or found a solution? Thanks!

Google docs tabs are great But...does anyone have issues with tabs and then like for example maybe the keyboard doesn't load properly when accessing that specific doc on android/mobile etc? Pixel 8 here if it matters, sometimes access on pixel 6a. But, I'm curious if anyone else has large documents with a couple or a few tabs which works fine on the desktop web, but then on mobile, maybe like the on screen keyboard won't show up or any other "issues" ? Thank you

Un problème avec #WeTransfer ou les #documentsPartagés style #googleDocs, #overleaf, etc, c'est qu'on se retrouve destinataire sans l'avoir choisi, et, selon les circonstances, il peut être un peu tard / humainement compliqué de demander au correspondant de changer d'outil.
J'envisage de mettre dans ma signature mail une ligne "Je refuse les documents partagés via des outils propriétaires, voici les alternatives" avec un lien. Idéalement, un lien sur une page toujours à jour ?
