I am proud to have been a #Nurse in our #NHS between 1981 and 2000 gaining two level 1 qualifications
I recognise the terms ‘breakthrough pain’, ‘individualised dosage’ & the pain charts the actors used as part of the story
I am ashamed to say I have used them. Albeit in good faith & unaware of what the pharmacokinetics actually were
#Pharma has genuinely helped millions. But greater regulation is needed on medical marketing to promote societies wellbeing

It deals with corruption, corporate & human greed, systemic public health failure & the resulting human cost. #PurduePharma produce an opioid, lie about its addictive properties, good people suffered needlesly & good people faced a long uphill battle to deal with it

I went to see a physio yesterday who said I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder. Maybe it’s because I’m currently watching #Dopesick but I was surprised how quickly the convo turned to pain relief and what she could offer. I declined as it’s more discomfort than pain and I’m trying to look after my gut health, but she seemed pretty shocked tbh
