Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is the another Brass Poppy's #gibson, pre batched and stashed in my freezer.

60ml gin or vodka
15ml Luxardo Bitter Bianco
7,5ml Carpano dry vermouth
1 barspoon onion brine
15ml still water

Pour directly in a chilled coupe and garnish with a cocktail onion. Much needed to proper celebrate #mayday !

Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is the Waterloo, from Difford's Guide.

60ml oude genever
15ml mandarin liqueur
5ml (one barspoon) strong herbal amaro

Stirr&Strain, espress an orange zest and discard, and garnish with a salted nut.

It is more an after dinner than an aperitif, but it's really good, if it happens you have a good mandarin liqueur from Corse!

Saffron Rasayana for the Weary

Are you weary? Stressed? In need of some relaxation? I have a rasayana for you – saffron in milk with honey and ghee. Always use less honey than ghee in the recipe. Amazingly, this drink relaxes and destresses. You feel your breath ease and deepen and worries vanish.

The art and science of #rasayana is about lengthening the lifespan, and individual rasayana recipes can be considered as tonics or something that enhances well being. Rasayanas not only include food but behaviours and practices.

When Kris and I were in Evora last year, the hotel restaurant offered a serving of their local potable, a cordial called poejo made from pennyroyal, which was new to me. It struck me as being similar in spirit to Creme de Violette, which is in one of my favorite cocktails, so used it to mix this up: 1.5oz Hendricks Amazonia gin, 0.5oz Luxardo Maraschino, 0.5oz lemon juice, and 0.5oz of the poejo.

Let's call it an "Aviação"

60ml Havana Club 7y
15ml lime juice
10ml simple sirup

Shake&fineStrain in a chilled coupe and garnish with a lime wheel.

I love rum (any kind), I love Daiquiri, this one is so different from the classic one with unaged rum that is in a league of its own.
Highly recommend!
