Some are androgenous
Few are purely female
Nature is not biased
So why are we?
*Ginkgos are androgenous.

the paradox of #tolerance, popper's warning, is now biting us in the ass
because for far too long we just let it slide
because it was too annoying to do anything about, it's just easier to make a judgment, and then... nothing
and now the bill comes due
you *have* to be intolerant of #intolerance. real consequences
or it grows
and now *we* are drowning in the inevitable consequences of our inaction, timidity, hesitance
#Japan ‘becoming very angry’ with misbehaving #socialmedia #influencers"Westerners may “hv a sense of superiority over Asians & don't feel they need to follow our laws/customs, but there's growing anger here & ordinary people want #police to be stronger”. Japan has long wrestled w #tourists who ignore #etiquette & regulations. “If they tried to do any of tis in #PRC or Russia, there wld be swift consequences.. But they come to #takeadvantage of #tolerance of #Japanese”"

Line manager: Uh, Boss?
Boss: Yes?
L: We finished that new run of the component. We sent it to QA.
B: Okay? Is there a problem?
L: I just got the report back. This batch, uh, didn't meet the tolerance goal.
B: [rubs temple] Okay, shit happens. I guess it goes out as 10%. That's not too bad a hit.
L: Uh, it didn't meet 10% tolerance, either.
B: What? How bad is it? 20%?
L: Uh...
B: It's *worse* than 20%?
L: Most of the parts are barely within 50% tolerance.
B: ...
L: So, uh, we should probably ...
B: Who was running the line?
L: ...
B: It was Chuck, wasn't it?
L: ... yes.
B: Was he drunk again?
L: I don't know. I sent him home.
B: Nobody's made these components in 50% tolerance for thirty years. Where am I going to sell them?
L: ...
B: Okay, AliExpress it is. Go to the noodle shop across the street and offer him some new boxes if we can have the ones his supplies come in. No way I'm putting these parts and the company name in the same room together.
(inspired by some parts I received today...)
You may be aware of the phrase "turn the other cheek" in Christian doctrine. I was raised with not responding to insults with a retort and also not to respond with force to force.
As I have grown older I want to add to that phrase: Turn the other cheek if you can and the force is not lethal or life threatening. And by all means: If you have already turned the other cheek and it happens a third time, fight back. Otherwise the #fascists win.
This is related to the #tolerance #paradoxon

This process should actually make us reflect on Karl Popper's paradox of tolerance: a society must be intolerant of intolerance in order to remain tolerant, since unlimited tolerance would lead to the destruction of tolerance itself by allowing intolerant forces to dominate.
A small group of friends and I had a little discussion today as to whether someone who vocally supports Trump should be welcome in a community primarily focused on solidarity and unionization.
While it’s true that “If everyone agrees with me, my #union is too small”, I think there is a line to be drawn when someone openly promotes a political leader who promotes intolerance. Karl Popper’s Paradox of Intolerance and Yonatan Zunger’s framing of tolerance as a peace treaty both say that intolerance should be a disqualifying trait in a tolerant society. Does support for an intolerant leader make you also intolerant? It certainly creates a threatening atmosphere for people who belong to targeted groups.
Some argue that the community should be a big tent that welcomes all as long as unionization succeeds, despite their support for intolerance. Me? I don’t want a Nazi bar, even if Nazis make great cocktails.
What do you think? Where and how would you draw the line?
i disagree
and in the #USA, after the #CivilRightAct, so did #US #law:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_accommodations_in_the_United_States
...until #MAGA chipped away at it
there is #tolerance
or there is #intolerance
there is no other choice
period
and the choice is obvious
and there is never, ever the possibility to respect intolerance in any way shape or form whatsoever
and hammering at that until you're left with a sword, then hacking away with that sword, is the only moral approach
@Kueperpunk I'm glad you used the word #Tolerance. I have been hoping the #Democrats in the US and similar political parties and organizations have finally #WokeTheFuckUp to what #KarlPopper warned about in his #ParadoxOfTolerance. Perhaps it is #TooLittleTooLate.

For me personally the word "Tolerance" means something akin to patience. Therefor I don't understand how we arrived at using this word to talk about Freedom. I have already written an article suggesting that it is perhaps a wrong word to use, and something like "Hate" or "Lack of Hate" would be a much better word to describe contemporary ...

As the climate of our world gets more hostile and intolerable, I am deeply reminded today of Norman Rockwell’s painting ‘Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You’
It was published on April 1st 1961, Norman Rockwell's Golden Rule remains as relevant today as it was when it first appeared on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post…Be kind to each other people
