Today a dear friend and I visited the Mitchells fold stone circle, high on the Shropshire moorland, right by the Welsh border.
It was very cold, and the weather constantly threatened to close in. While up there, we found evidence of a recent offering ritual.

The concept of a "year and a day" study to convert to paganism was started by the Wiccans as a way for initiates to experience each holiday in the Wheel of the Year before becoming official. Now, many other pagans do the same thing to build experience with the lunar and solar cycles, either on their own or in a group.
Did you undertake a "year and a day" or similar study?
Birch wood spirit. Branch was a bit dry and tough, and I've been out of action so my hands are feeling weaker than they were when I was doing one of these a day, but it came out really nice.

This is Gawton's Well, in a place some call Druid's Grove. The well is claimed to have curative properties for skin conditions. The last picture shows the stone where the hermit Gawton lived, it was not very roomy!
The well is said to be holy, though it's not clear who to. If the well is old enough, it may predate Christianity.
I'll return to film there later in the year.
Ritual fire to welcome the Spring Equinox, which arrived at 5:01 Eastern Time this morning. This afternoon, I ceremonially burned the Yule wreath I made on this past Winter Solstice, December 21, 2024, as well as the greens-festooned star that decorated my gate during the winter holy days.
