@frameworkcomputer - batch 6 here; thanks for the hardware
Ooooo, the new framework 12 inch looks like an opensource Surface and I'm very here for it. I love all the colors, especially the bubble gum and lavender! It's a tablet too, so I could use it to replace my ipad when it finally stops getting security updates. They're even going to have a stylus and its fully repairable. This is very tempting to invest in possibly as soon as next year depending on when my updates for my 2018 ipad 11-inch stop.

Anyone have experience with color calibration on linux? Specifically with gnome?
The gnome docs suggest a pantone huey is the best supported and cheapest option. I can find them on ebay for around $20. Will I regret not going with a more expensive option?
Of course you shouldn't lift it at a dangerous acceleration, but I found that if it's fast enough so that the lid/screen is a bit more open than it was before (due to inertia) afterwards, there's a good chance that I produced a click. (_Please_ don't damage your screen hinges while trying this!)
I wouldn't say that it's an "issue", but it's certainly good to know :)
I'd love to hear from anyone who's able to reproduce this with their own device!
Hey #FrameworkLaptop 13 owners: I had a strange issue where video playback would sometimes stop once I physically moved the laptop, e.g. from the couch to the desk.
Turns out I can click my touchpad – from below.
To reproduce, grab the laptop (lid open) with one hand, with your thumb next to the touchpad and the other fingers on the underside of the case, opposite to where the upper half of the touchpad is, as pictured. Your grip should feel safe and secure.
Now, quickly lift the laptop.
I have to say: The Framework Laptop 13's 2.8K display is _great_ to edit photos. High resolution, can be very bright if you need it to, and apparently excellent color reproduction.
The latest #FrameworkLaptop 16 feature: regularly crashing during sleep mode so you open it to a booting laptop instead of your presentation.
I got a lot of questions about the laptop at RustWeek. The short version is: its behavior would be unacceptable for an EVT prototype.
Sigh.
My Framework 13 batch is getting ready to ship! First new laptop in like 8 years

Upgraded. Let's see what this AMD Ryzen can do over the Intel board it was rocking before. #FrameworkLaptop #Fedora #Linux
If you are plugging a portable USB-C powered monitor into a Framework 16 laptop and the monitor keeps rebooting ... it's not getting enough power.
You have to use a USB-C module that's plugged into one of some specific sockets -- the two four "furthest back" on either side, kinda closest to where you would normally expect to power a laptop. The front two won't work.
And: "Ports 1,2,4,5 are shared on a first come first serve basis. So they are 1.5A by default, but one port from any of these can negotiate 3A over PD. Once that is taken, the other ports are limited to 1.5A. Ports 3,6 are 900mA."
There's a flyer that comes in the box about this, but I didn't make the connection (pun intended) until the symptom popped up.

Hatte von euch schon mal eine*r ein #FrameworkLaptop 12 in den Händen? Mich würde interessieren, ob es Softtouch-Oberflächen gibt.
I'm so grateful to @frameworkcomputer for allowing DIY orders with core components missing, but _with_ other replacement parts via their marketplace :-) My first FW13 arrived today, plus few parts for my SOs older FW13.
Me: "Linux, here I come!"
A chorus of RAM & SSD modules lying around: "Pick me!"
This is cool, really hope it is something like the #FrameworkLaptop of cars with open standard components etc #ev #evs #electricvehicles - I love the way they have turned away from the “let’s make a phone on wheels” idea.
Oh no it’s a shame your hardware isn’t supported. What Linux kernel & distro are you using?
My #FrameworkLaptop works flawlessly in #LinuxMint.

I recently got a #FrameworkLaptop 13 and am very happy with it. I got one with the AMD 7040 series and even though they officially support #fedoralinux and #ubuntu, I put #debian 12 and it is working very well.
I'm thinking about getting a framework laptop. Anyone have experience running Linux on one? if so, was it a good experience? #FrameworkLaptop #linux
